What is the WMS

Map Interface - Map Title and RightsThe map title appears everywhere, it's the name of the map. It's a common mistake to name your map something like : "Map of the World". Don't, everybody can see that it's a map.
The description of your map. Being descriptive will allow users to find your map more easily.
Your map can be :
PublicWhen a map is public, everybody can modify everything on the map with the important exception of the rights. The rights cannot be changed except by the creator of the map.
A public map has a great advantage. When someone spots a mistake, he will most likely correct it thus correcting the map on your website.
Semi-publicA semi-public map can be seen and linked to by everyone but only modified by its creator.
PrivateA private map can only be seen and modifier by its creator. It's usually used for maps under construction or maps with sensitive data. You can link to a private map
